Nice for a one-take. I thinks it works this way - sad- as well as Dylan's triumphant version. I think you might have over-EQ'ed the vocal though - it sounds like maybe you cut too much low end from it.

Thanks brother!...

It's weird... I dialed in the vocal settings in POD farm about 4 months ago and don't touch them for these one shot trials... It does go through some eq in that chain but again it is the same as what I used on the Leon Russel "A Song for you" and the Rihanna "Stay" tune...the only thing different was those were ran directly into the little Sony mp3 recorder direct and these went into Reaper in multi track and signaled out to the Sony recorder ( I like the MP3 conversion it does better than Audacity) Now I did use automation to level out the volume but that is the only fiddling I did on it..

Love your treatment of this classic tune. Great performance ... modernized it cleverly, creatively. But I gotta tell you, the vocals are so prominent in the mix that it distracts from an otherwise great cut. Your voice is powerful enough to dominate with very little help from the faders. I'm not a skilled enough engineer to to be able to recommend a fix, but if I were mixing this, the first thing I'd do is back the vocal track down until its softest points sat just on top of the piano.

Thanks Mbrusko! appreciate the feedback..you're the first to mention that ..It was a a rushed live take and the volume of the piano and the vocals were all over the place...The only editing I did on this was volume levels using the automation feature and only spent maybe 15 minutes fiddling..I have not gone back to it yet but when I get a chance I'll play with it and see what I can do to level it out a bit...... Or... if anyone wants to take a shot at it PM me..it's in REAPER.
