I run the recording equipment at my small local church in New Hmpshire, USA and we had a recent lightning strike that fried our amp (Bogen GS-100) and our wireless microphones (AV-Jefe UR-00). We need to replace them both, but would like to make sure we get something that is not too expesive but is the best use of our tight budget. Our insurance is going to cover the lightning strike, but I am sure the check will be slow in coming.

What should we get for an Amp, and what should we get for microphone system? Our pastor prefers wireless as it gives him free reign of the front of the church sanctuary. Also is buying a separate amp and a mixer the best way to go, or is a combo better?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

How can a lightning strike fry a wireless microphone? Maybe the receiver, but not the mics!

Shot me a Personal message with info to where you are located in Newmarket along with a phone number and I will come over to talk about it.
