Hello All,

My windows and lightbulbs hate low or high frequencies. When I am drumming, or hitting high notes on my keyboards, the lightbulbs i guess rattle, and the window panes rattle in their frames. Is there any way to fix this without getting new windows, or taking out all the lightbulbs? (i like light hehe)

Thank you.

if it helps, I have two windows in the room. I am in a basement, so they are solid in their frame (don't open or close). also, I have dimmable flood lights, but don't get any hum from the dimmer.

thanks.

I have a very old and big house and trying to save for new windows a few at a time. One would rattle all of the time before I replaced it.
I made a wedge out of folded up paper and stuck it in between the sill and sash and between the top sash and the bottom one to stop the noise.
If your glass is rattling in the frames try removing the old glazing compound and adding some caulk neatly on both sides.Problem solved.

thanks for the reply. but that is the thing - the windows seem to be securely in, but the low and high (extreme) frequencies seem to rattle them...the big problem seems to be the lightbulbs.

Try using candles. adds ambiance and no rattles... (sorry couldn't resist)

Are the flood lights in those outdoor type fixtures? I have one outside my house and I seem to remember that the ceramic bases are pretty loose inside the fixtures. Maybe you oughta just rewire the fixture with a different type of light, maybe some track lighting or something.
