I was tip-toeing around in ebay and noticed a lot of lexicons (Especially the mpx1) on the block. If they are the Ultimate reverb why so many for resale? Is there something I should know? Will someone fill me in...

No, the pcm 70 was the ultimate reverb ;)

You can find those on ebay, just not as much. I sold my there a few years ago :(

All the lexicons sound very good and there is really no particular reason they go on sale. People get bored and they always want somethin' new or a project demands something "better". That's the best reason I have come up with so far. I think it's a bit of a myth that the only reason people sell stuff on eBay 'cause the gear sucks. Sometimes that's the case but many more times it is not. People just want to "upgrade" all the time - that's nature. That's also the reason you won't find too many of the higher end lexicons but you will the budget versions of their gear.

In my case it was 'I needed the money more than I needed the pcm-70' at that time.

I sold some of my gear in the last year on eBay for I too needed the money. Now I regret selling some of it. (One of the pieces was the Lexicon mpx100). So I can definitely relate. Yeah, that's a valid reason too why people sell.

I think a lot of MPX-1's are there because it is a pretty complex piece of gear. Maybe more difficult to program than some people imagine. It sounds great. But be sure to get a manual or download one because it's a vital necessity.
