I have what will probably end up being a stupid question, but confusing for a newbie. When I mix down from a DAT to a cassette, the levels are always very low on the cassette. I am using a Tascam DA-30 and mixing to a very high quality Nakamichi studio cassette. I cannot drive the level any higher on the cassette deck without getting distortion of the signal. The signal sounds very good when listened to on the Dat, but loses impact and volume level when dubbed to cassette. Can anyone help with this. Thanks
The playback volume level is a matter of how high the output of your casette deck is, which obviously is lower than the volume of your DAT. You are obviously not recording at a low level, since ut will distort if you turn it up more when recording.
Turn up the volume when playing back.
