Hold that thought.... I can't believe I let my 5000th post slip by without a celebration. Oh well... next milestone is my 7148th post.

BTW: I'm Dave, just not the famous one.

carry on.

How the heck did we let that happen?!?

Why 7148?

7148? - can't you just delete some posts or something :laughings::laughings::laughings::laughings:

Well all schools are like prison camps :)

I don't remember ever having to memorize any long prose like that... of course I was distracted by other things in those days. like chicks and booze -

And chocolate donuts mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

those came later...

I am still trying to get rid of them

DAMN YOU ENTENMANNS

Why 7148?

Well, it's the next logical step...
You know, like when you first start, you finally get 50 posts and you can give rep and other things. A bonafide member of the community.

Soon enough, you hit 100 and you feel proud. You also found out that your lame posts in the cave didn't count.

Then the next major milestone is 1000 posts. Oooo, now we're talking. Been around for awhile, learned a lot, helped some others along the way. when you give advice, people look at your post count and marvel.

The rest of the thousands are not so significant, just trivial mindless banter in the forums until.... you hit 5000. That's a major breakthrough. That's a lot of talk. That's a lot of posts. That's a lot of spewing of BS.

And you get to thinking, wow, If I made it this far.... I wonder what it will be like at post #7148.... But henry, you're way past that mark, you probably don't remember....

I don't think it works that way... I'm so pragmatic. :(

And chocolate donuts mmm

You mean those chocolate glazed ones??? :D

Cave post don't count?!

I'm gonna stop at 666

since I'm so close

Oh yeah... 666 is a good number to stop at.

MSHilarious tried stopping at 11,000. He would only post in the cave after that (Yup, cave posts don't count - try it), but he didn't realize that 10,997 would have made a better stopping point. It's a nice round number, is it not? Not like some arbitrary number like 11,000. weird.

Don't be tempted by that chocolate covered devil!

The first time I had a Krispy Kream donut I said * All of these years and Dunken Donuts have just been ripping me off*

Got any more Drumistic that you can remember?

Hmmmm....

Ozymandias--by Shelley, I think??
Arrow and the Song--Longfellow
To Be or Not To Be (and a couple other sonnets of Shakespeare)
Ode to a Grecian Urn--Keats
....and a whole lot more! But those are mainly the ones I remember. We did one poem a month, from 6th-12th grade.

The swing by Robert Louis Stevenson ..... to this day is still embedded in the brain pan.

Did you guys go to the same school like 30 years apart or something? Now that I think back - it was probably because I went to a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet school

Or are we the same person??? Hmmm what do you think, Moresound?

Hard to say. I do so much time travel that I can hardly keep up with what year it is!
