I seem to remember Ricks and teles coming up with you before...do you not already have a gibson or gibson-like guitar? Personally, I don't dig the silver thing, but I'm assuming that is part of what drew you to it in the first place...

I love it. Do it. I was about one nanosecond from dropping a bundle on a Silverburst Standard.
Keep in mind they turn green over time.
I bought 2002's instead.

Silverburst. . . thats pritty ugly, I wouldn't drop any money on that, than again I like a more traditional look. I love my gibo deeply still cant belive I own it when I open the case, even through its years of batterings.

OP, if you really want to be talked out of buying that 'Paul, I would bet that that finish is not going to have "legs." Greg pointed out they turn greenish (yuck!) and even if yours does not, I would think that if you want to sell a few years from now, the silverburst will bring far less than more traditional finishes.
