Hi ive been recording at home for some time now and have just stumbled across this brilliant idea! (the mixing clinic).

Can you possibly give this a quick listen to and tell me whats wrong with the mix, or my mixing! or give me ideas of how to improve the mix.

i dont have great monitors so i could be missing something obvious.

Recoring equipment is :-
Delta1010 Sound-card
AKG C1000s Mic
Various Gtrs
Laney and Marshall Amps (all laney on this 1)
Roland 3100 Digital Mixer
B1 Hootersound Pre-amp for Mics
Fruity Loops for drum programming
Ps. I know i aint no great singer !

This is just the first 1Min of the tune to keep the file size down.

Many Thanks

Ok 37 Seconds on the recount lol

Yup!

Plus the mids sound a little harsh and the vocals are BURIED.

This ain't about Paul, is it?

I'm sorry- I need to point out that the zipped version of this file was 6 KB smaller than the actual version.

Please. Do the math. help a brutha' out.

I put it in a zip cause my webspace wont allow Mp3 files.
Nothing to do with compression lol!

It sounds fine. As sonusman pointed out, it needs some bass.

Thankyou, I mixed it last night through head-phones and relistening today through my setup and comparing it to Commercial records, i can see it needs some more bottom end (Bass)+Vocals could use a slight boost.

thanks for Listening!

Regards

Octaver- just a silly Beatles reference.

"I buried Paul"

"Paul is dead, miss him miss him miss him"

"28IF"

etc.....
