Can anyone help me?
Im still new to home recordings and i hope someone can help me with this.
im using miditech AudioLink III audio interface.
i have a few software for recording which include Mixcraft, Studio One Free, Samplitude 11.
1. I recorded a vocal and guitar track at the same time with the audio interface and when i listen to it, the vocals came out from the left side of the speakers and the guitar on the right side of the speakers.
I took some advice from a guitar shop assistant and he said something about setting my software tracks to mono or something like that along the line. * my audio interface is already set to mono, but i don't know how to set the tracks to mono*
If that is not the case what should i do to fix this problem.
2. When recording i find that both vocals and guitar run on ONE track, can i know is it possible to split it? If so how do i do it, so i can edit both of them separately.
3. I'm planning to buy a mic for vocals and instrument recordings, can i get some insight on what brand is good and not too expensive.

Im sorry for my bad English i hope anyone who read this understood what i meant and bless me with some solution.

thanks in advance.

Select the input (usually a pair) and select either Left or Right instead of stereo. If you select mono, it sums the left and right to a mono track. Samplitude basically works on stereo tracks. Even when you select mono (and it will record a mono track), Your AudioLink is sending two inputs that samplitude (and probably the other software) is seeing as a single stereo set. Set one track to record L and the other to record R and you'll have two mono tracks.

There you go. (sorry, don't have Sam 11 but pretty sure they all work the same)

Point to note is that the left and right channel are panned hard left and right in the mixer?

You get two mono channels when you start a project, Select 2 channels and set "mixer setup" to mono.
Or, you can set "Project Template" to 8 mono channels.

I REALLY like Samplitude! Wish I could afford/justify Pro X!

Dave.
