Hi everyone I'm new here, so apologies in advance if this should have been posted in another forum that I couldn't find. I am dying to figure out how this performance was recorded, as it sounds as though it were recorded decades later. Obviously it has been remastered, but my guess is that there had to be something of substantial quality in the first place for the remastering to sound as good as it does. I do know that Jimmy Page was technically proficient with recording, and took the "distance equals depth" axiom to heart. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Here's a clip

Here's the whole concert:

I don't know what was the exact recording rig used...but it was analog and recorded to tape....and of course, it was Led Zepplin at their best in a great music hall.

I don't know what they used, but you can bet it was the best equipment available at that time. This brings back some memories though. I saw Led Zepplin in concert in 1970 in Evansville, Indiana. What a great concert that was. I had a great seat and if I remember right, the seat only cost $7.00 or maybe $7.50.

I saw Zep in 73. Fifth row on the side, even with the right-side PA speakers about 25 feet away. I was deaf in my right ear for 5 days. What a show!

That's amazing. They were definitely on top of their game between '69 and '72 as far as I'm concerned. But I'm only 21 so I've been having to revisit all their concerts through bootlegs on youtube
