Thats the symbol for a light emitting diode and Q is often the symbol for transistors in most schematics ;)

Yep. Again the LED part of the schemo is what you already have in your guitar. Just take the ground connection from that circuit, and instead of running it straight to ground, run it to the collector of the transistor.

Don't know where you shop, but this transistor from Rat Shack should work fine:

Also if you decide you need the diode, 1N4148 will work, that and the .1uF cap should also be at your local Shack

Many many many years ago, I saw a bluegrass show and this banjo player had 3 incandescent christmas lights inside his banjo that were wired to his finger/thumb picks. In execution, it was kinda lame because he had these 3 wires tracing down his arm and the lights were red blue and green, but it was kinda neat the way the colors would cycle as he did the different finger rolls.

If you had one of those piezo saddle pickups with an individual piezo for each string, it wouldn't be hard to wire a LED for each string

The Hi-Top is black but there's a little red where the logo is.

I have a demon head sticker from a crackerjack prize on my Sunburst Strats headstock, its been there since 1979 ;)

I have a Converse Hi-Top sticker on my 1969 Yamaha acoustic.

How do you know what year it is? Are you a member or the "Shitty japanese acoustic guitar discussion forum"?

Inquiring minds want to know. I have 5 or 6 $200 guitars myself.

There's a sticker on the inside that says "1969" on it.

The thing sounds pretty good. I'll post a link later.

Rust is a good representation of how it sounds.

And I was mistaken about the date being on the inside.

There's a red label on the inside that says FG-150 on it. I did a quick Google search and determined it's date of birth.

I played one of those in a pawn shop a few months ago. It was a pretty cool guitar but it was in bad shape so I passed. Yours sounds pretty good to me. I have an old beat up yamaha that's served me well.
