Hey Layla, A guitar that is easy to play can make all the difference especially with acoustics. You should check out the Martin Big Baby. It's 11/12 scale so the neck is slightly smaller and it's a lot easier to play. They are pretty cool guitars for under $300. No matter what you get don't buy one until you find one that fits perfectly and has a good action.

Other than that keep practicing.

Mornin Layla,
If it's any consolation, most people that have been playing the guitar for a year are still struggling with just trying to play a clean F or Bb. :)
When you play the Bb, C7, F progression are you using the barre C7 or the open C7 (open C chord with the pinky on the Bb, 3rd fret, G string)? If you are using the open C7, you will probably notice that your wrist moves a lot during the progression. Nothin you can do but practice, practice, practice.
And/or use the barre C7. Same as the open A7, but barred on the 3rd fret. Pinky on 5th fret, B string. Ring finger on 5th fret, D string.
Just a thought. Hope it helps.
Break a leg,
Bill

It took me a long time to do barre chords. Heres how learning to play works:
5 years in: "I think I might be starting to get the hang of this"
10 years in: "I think that I might know what I'm doing, Hey! I have a style!"
15 years in: " Holy shit! I just heard something in my head and played it instantly!, I hope that happens again."
The first time that you see blood on your guitar is a sort of baptism and will bring a smile to your face, Don't worry it does'nt happen that often. Good Luck.
