Learn how to modify your Case and PSU to make them quiet!!!

That's a pretty cool idea (no pun intended) but it seems like a lot of work. I'm convinced that the best engineered solution would be to decrease the temperature of the incoming air via a remote evaporative cooler/heat exchange unit and (after dessicating said airstream by passing it through a regenerative dessicant) then reduce the amount of air flowing through the case. This would quiet it down bigtime while dragging less debris into the case.

Evaporative coolers can easily produce incoming temperatures of 16 deg. C. which would produce a much more dramatic cooling of the entire system than more efficient placement of two smaller fans versus one loud bastard.

But hey- I'm just a 21st century sewer-worker. What do I know?

Drstawl, you seem to have a good idea about something, but I can't see the picture you are trying to paint. Why don't you elaborate on your idea some more and maybe gives us some components or specific parts and a plan to accomplish what you suggested?
