Yo to all:]

I've been looking at some Quiklok speaker stands to buy to raise my monitors up a couple of feet.

The model I'm considering has a 36" max height. But here is what I wonder about.

The monitor is heavy. It sits atop the Quiklok stand. I nudge the stand. The monitor falls and breaks my foot.

If anyone uses this type of stand, can you clue me in on its stability OR is there a way to lock the monitors on the 11 inch surface top of the stand.

Thanks,
Green Hornet

Hey ya Hornet..

I've got a pair and they are pretty stable..Not problems..unless you are gonna start moshing and flailin' about the room :D Really no probs. with them though they are stable!

Hey Don:

Thanks a lot for the response. At present my monitors are a few inches off the carpet in my studio room; from what I've read, I should get them up a bit and that's why I've been scouting the Quikloks.

As I was looking around the other day, I found a sale on a Quiklok for my 2816 and ordered it. This will really open up some knee space as at present I've got my 2816 resting on top of a great Leslie rotating speaker I used to use when I did gigs.

OH, I don't allow any drinking or smoking in my studio; the drinks are there but they are outside of the room -- I'd go into orbit if I spilled a drink into my unit.

Thanks again,

Green Hornet :D  :p
