Feedback?

I'm not particularly happy with it. A lot of it comes with the fact that it was tracked in a far-from-preferred room, which was actually a BIG room (music venue) with a ton of hard surfaces.

Not sure I'm happy with the mix, either, though.

Please tell me everything you hate about this! :drunk:

Thanks so much.

Now, I realize that the band may have destroyed this song.. and that my mix may have destroyed it even more, but any feedback would be stellar.. thanks.

Hey - I'm not a big fan of the original nor do I really care for their version, but I think you did a decent job mixing this. The clarity is fine and I wouldn't have guesed this was done in a large, untreated space. Quite the contrary, most parts seemed pretty dry and distinct and I guess I would've actually preferred more of something to glue it all together.

I thought her vocals were going to be a real adventure as it seemed as though she first came in really flat, but she pulled it together pretty well after that.

The electric guitar was overpowering when it entered the scene. I lost her vocals under it at times.

I also didn't care for the piano sound...I don't know much about pianos so maybe this was a really nice grand or something, but it sounded kinda light and fake to me...

Again, the mix sounds pretty good and I don't mean to be overly negative...I just didn't care for the tune which is hard to get around. Sorry you're not getting more feedback, hopefully someone else will chime in :).

Hey, thanks for the input. I had the same thought on that electric, but it's too late now to fix it unfortunately, as it's all said and done. If you noticed, it abruptly drops in level at 1:28... I'm not sure how I let that slip through.. :\

The piano is just the Mini Grand virtual instrument included in Pro Tools. Wish I had Akoustik Piano.

Again, thanks for giving me some feedback :P

The top end of the piano sounds really twee.
The guitar in the chorus is way over the top - or not over the top enough if you're going for gonzo!
The hand claps need a little work.
I can get what they are trying for but it's the wrong song & wrong guitar sound.
You did a decent job of hiding the room.
