Roland JV-1010.Is that sitar a synth?

The tambourine sound seems to come in a little loud

The guitar sounds like it was recorded direct kinda.
The only guitar is a few power chords, maybe 4 in the whole tune. The "clean" guitar is a Yamaha synth.hope that the new release will include some of the Grieg that you were experimenting with???

The Grieg is for another CD.

Just did some researchThe tanbourine ....it has it's significance in the piece beat-wise.
and I think the tambourine should stay up where it is volume wise....

Hey David...Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the title should be "L'Arabe", no?
The tanbourine is as loud as anything else in the mix - the strings or sitar for example. It's a percussion instrument that is not shy when you hit it. If it's not supposed to be a focal point maybe take it down a touch. I kind of like the way it draws my attention though....it has it's significance in the piece beat-wise.

The only thing that came to mind when listening was that bass drum(?) on the left side - it made my headphone mix seem a little left heavy at times.
At the time it seemed like a good idea. Now it doesnt.
Good ears, its a lopsided mix. I may redo the whole percussion part. I am not looking forward to it. That "pizz" part that erockrazor was talking about is on there as well.Le Arabe is so wrong for French grammar....I can see why Rami brought it up...You usually drop the e and add an apostrophe. The publisher would get an "F" for that from Miss Delorme my Grade School French TeacherIn our violin parts for the ballet, it says "Le Arabe". On the CD I will probably call it "Arabian".
...and no she was not hot....

Did you track all the strings yourself?
I am learning a few eq tips lately that are helping. In the past my string stuff sounded more "phasey" so I am finally getting a better sound.Mix wise my only comment is that often there's not much happening in the centre of the stereo image.
Absolutely amazing David.

The violins are so emotion packed. The guitars towards the closing sound really cool. The bass sounds really cool also. Everythig is jammin'.
