Layla owners

Has anyone experimented with replacing the 15 foot serial cable (that connects the Layla24 to the PCI card) with a longer one? I would like to get a 25 foot cable...does anyone know of any harm in doing so? Any certain cables I should look for?

I may be wrong, but I don't think the Layla cable is a "standard" serial cable. You should probably get in touch with Echo directly.

Nope, I'm right. From the manual: This custom made cable is manufactured to certain specifications; if you need to replace it, you should only use a replacement cable from Echo.
