Nicely played, cool theme.

I think the guitar on the right (in my system, the soloing one), great.
Warm and upfornt, clear and detailed.
Great sound.

the rythm playing one (left) sounds good, but If I were to suggest anything it would be Some more verb, and some more Trebble bost, get it thinner.

Anyway thats just through my monitors.

it sounds really nice, and congrats on your first el-guitar recording :D
Sounds as if you`ve done it for years

Now what amp what guitar, come on share :D

Timbo!! Your breakthrough song!

Kick some ass man, I love your leads/runs, very mellow with much style.

I like the tone on your leads, but your strumming tone leaves a little.. Can't wait to hear some more man, tear it up!!

Sound really cool. The mellow guitar with it's sun-warmth/glow-on-the-beach-at-evening-time warm tone is really cool. I like the melody too.

The guitar playing is pretty cool. I'd say great playing. I'd say the snare could be a little different. Sounded a little too synth/pop/rock for this piece. I'd even say an acoustic'ish sound might go well.

Just adding opinions. :)

Really cool track. :)

Hey Tim,

Cool, great to hear your electric side.

I agree with Nakatira regarding the rhythm tone; it seemed a little thick maybe.

The ascending lead melody with the harmonic minor tinge is very cool.

I like the lead style. It was grounded with some bluesy licks, but you added your own distinctive style to them.

My only criticism is regarding the rhythm part. I think the straight sixteenth notes on beat 3 of the V chord sounds a little obvious and straight --- at least to do it that way every time. Maybe instead of:

(BEAT 3)16th-16th-16th-16th, (BEAT 4) 8th(staccato)

you could try something like:

(BEAT 3) 8th rest-8th (staccato), (BEAT 4) 16th-16th-8th rest

or

(BEAT 3) 8th rest - 8th (staccato), (BEAT 4) 8th rest-8th (staccato)

Or maybe alternate every a different pattern every other time.

Anyway, I like the tones and the vibe.

Looking forward to hearing more.

Tim.....cool as always man...the link you gave me didn't work, but this obviously did.... :D

The guitar reminds me some of Santana, in the phrasing. It's not a direct relation to him, but the transition between notes is smooth like that. And while there is some speed, it's also very clean, and not over done. It's what I would call very tasty.....very much like a Rib-Eye.... :D
I would have to say, it has a very sexy vibe......the Latin part of it. The note choice is just very cool......my big nit....get a new drum machine..... :p

If you wished to pursue this further, I'd see if Rami, or lbanks, or Bulls Hit would be interested in adding some other stuff. I think you could fill this out in a heartbeat, with some complimentary tracks. I think this smokes......And I'm talking $4.95 cigars here man......Very tasty..... :D

Randy: It was just aight for me. The lead and rhythm guitar tones are too similar and compete for attention. It was a little bluesy; a little Spanish . . . I liked some of the phrasing . . . but it was just average for me. Dog!

Paula: First off, I love those shoes! I thought your playing was wonderful, it's always wonderful, I would have your baby if I weren't postmenopausal and really, really hepped up on goofballs. I loved how you let your own style show through at the end. You took the song and made it your own.

Simon: I have to disagree, (Crowd: BOOOOO!) I thought it sounded like Van Cliburn stumbling into a piano store at a shopping mall (BOOOOO!) Let me finish! And instead of sitting down at the Steinway grand and doing something really beautiful, he sat down at an electric organ and wanked along with Mambo #5. (BOOOOOOO!) I thought it was ridiculous.

Ryan: I am a closeted homosexual whose advances have been rejected by Simon :(

Mic'd the amps differently on the two lead guitars. I play all the guitars. My first attempt mic'ing an amp.

All comments and tips appreciated.

Tim
:D :D :D :D :D You get the gurl again there Zoro!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I am still listening several more times, before I make any other comments though!! :)

Tim, great playing as always, both lead and rhythm parts......

I like the two different leads trading licks off one another.

Not a big fan of your drummer - he needs more decay on his snare (lol) ;)

Nice tones on both rhythm and lead.....good one.....

:D :D :D

Great playing man, like always. What kind of guitars / amps / mics if you don't mind me asking? On my monitors it sounds good to me, maybe some room to open up the highs on the rhythm guitar track. This is my second time through. That rythm is real catchy man. Especially with that repeating lead part. Very cool I really do wish I could be more help, another one on the ol ipod by you though.

Take care

There is someone whom this puts me in mind of. Style wise. Perhaps Lou Reed. Not sure yet.

I can hear some dude singing in my head, but cannot place it ...yet. But I will. He is famous!! :D It is driving me bug hunting!!!!

Tim, you have done an excellent job!! Well on your way, to meister of the Electro world!!

I especially like your runs. They are sweet to the ears.

I want to download it for keeps.

True :) :) :)

Great stuff Tim, nice to hear another side of your stuff. Nice and smooth and IN TUNE, what a concept  Fire that "drummer" and you got a lil Santana thang going on. Very cool, and thanks a lot for your email. I will send you a copy when it comes out!!

huh Naka?, I heard the solo gtr on the left side bro!! so who's system is screwqed?? :D
Tim, Latin Rock? hmm well it does have the Santana=ish lines.
You need a real rythmn section me thinks!! But the gtrs sound great, advises about the tone is 'bout right.
BTW, there was a blip @0:18.. intro into a section.

I think the lead could be just a little louder... and perhaps a hint of delay would be nice. Cool note choices. It needs some bass. :D I think just shakers would be more effective than the drum machine. Something quieter might allow the lead guitar tone to peek through a little nicer.

I like the chuck berry stuff... very crisp.

Tim Lawler plugs in!! :D

*crowd roars*

I think everyone has hit the nail on the head with your lead work, which continues to amaze me. (Let's assume that I just posted the usual gushing comments about how great your phrasing is ;) ) I'll agree with the thinning out of that rhythm tone a little bit too. It isn't that it's bad (it's not)...it's just that the stuff you throw over it is so good that it needs to be spotlighted a little more. You could easily get away with such a thing without coming across as a showboater.

Now let's talk about those drums! :D In the spirit of the Rumbles, why not throw it out there for the drummers? So many things can work with this - from the conga/bongo obvious thing to brush kit beatnik jazz to something even a little Bonham-esque.

Thanks for aiming me towards the tune...it's always great to hear you play.

Hey Tim,

Nice playing, very smooth and flowing!
The drums sound very pfffty......excuse my terminology!......It's mainly the kick!

The rhythm guitar needs to be lowered just a few db's to let the lead guitar shine!

Great stuff Tim!

I enjoyed very muchly!!

Nice to see you break out of your usual stuff Tim. Warm tone. I like the playing and guitar tone but I agree that you should go for a different sound on the rhythm guitar. Something a little thinner and brighter to give room for the lead. Baby steps though! This is a very good start. Nice job man.
