Last.FM's Parent Company Sent Information To RIAA

Although I do not pirate music, I do respect privacy. I deleted my last.fm account and have started to fear other large websites that could be sharing my information with the unknown. I understand that you are not supposed to put certain information online, but where should the line be drawn?
