Bravo! I wish I could fingerpick like that.

I only noticed that the very last note got cut off.

What was your signal chain for that? Starting with the guitar.

Thanks Michael. That's a Martin D-41 with a AKG C-3000 pointed at the 14th fret through a MindPrint and a GT AM-52 in figure 8 set up through a DBX-386 so I'm doing a M/S configuration. And of course a little reverb.
 
excellent senor Track Rat! really excellent.. I don't know how you resisted adding other things.. As I was listening to this, I was thinking o.k, bring in the cello, next some organ, now the EBow etc. :D

It sounds great this way though.. Maybe I just have the Lord of the Rings on the brain, but I felt like a hobbit, sitting in the shire, smoking a pipe and getting ready to listen to some elven tales of old..


one more excuse to smoke a pipe I guess.. :)

I caught this yesterday when you posted it on nowhereradio.Nice guitar playing man.You have a nice touch for these christmas tunes.This is added to the rest of the Holiday mix rotation.

Dont say it's your last tune of the season!Who knows,you may get the urge to do a few more.You sure arent bothering anyone here by posting a bunch of Christmas tunes.The more the merrier!

Very nice! You did that in your first take? That's a bunch of fingerpickin' to not have any flubs.....pretty impressive.
The sound was great.....it sounded to me like a guitar player up on stage in a decent sized hall. I need to break out my 3000.

And the Homerec Christmas comp. keeps growing. If we get any more Christmassy around here we'll have to send each other gifts. :D
 
Ooooh... I'm a sucker for nice acoustic playing and acoustic guitars overall. You're definitely a good player. I could never put so much emotion into clean playing. I'm in a christmas mood. I can't bitch about anything. This is just beautiful. I'm also in a pussy mood right now. I love you all guys.. . really :D (oh no..! what have I done?!)

I listened to this before server changes...but I couldn't get my post to "take".

You ARE the acoustic picker too (you sissy!!)...:eek:

sounds nice, and for a first take pretty decent. You do hear a couple of string buzzes, and groans that I am sure you would fix in something more polished. This is more about the tune and the performance it seems.

my one complaint is each verse was the same...no embellishments from verse to verse.

What about midnight clear? That was a primo arrangement. Very impressive! It reminded me a lot of Ed Gerhard's arrangement of that tune.

Little Drummer boy was pretty good, too.

Excellent job overall. These are going into my xmas collection.

That's a C3000??? Without a "b" on the end? Wow. I was just about convinced that mic was good as ONLY an overhead drum mic. Man, I suck.
