Laptop tapping?

If I tap on the top of my laptop I can hear the sound come out of my studio monitors. It is similar to tapping on the casing of a microphone. Is this normal??
I'm using the 3.5mm output from the laptop. It's not negatively impacting my productions, but it just doesn't seem right.

Does anybody here have any experience with this?

Hi,
It sounds like, somehow, the laptop's built in microphone is 'live' or direct monitoring.

If you can locate the microphone and tap or blow right at it, that should confirm or rule out the idea....then we'll take it from there.

Yup, you need to disable the mic as attached.
