Yup, another newbie souncard question, but I'll try to be specific and concise. We have a basement band with a lead singer, lead guitar/backup vocals, rhythm guitar (that's me), bass, and drums. We have a Peavey mixer, and can run everything through that. (We just run the vocals into there now, and then out to the monitors).
I have a new Gateway 400SP laptop that has n-Studio installed. It has (2) USB 2.0 inputs, as well as space for (1) Type II or Type III card. We just want to be able to burn some CD's that don't suck, sound-wise. So, for under $150+/- street/eBay price, what would you all recommend? And should I get a plug-in card, or a separate box that connects into the USB 2.0?
Many thanks in advance. I'll bet I've read 200 posts on this forum, and the complexity of sound recording is way more than I thought it would be.
