Hi,

Bit of a n00b question perhaps, i'm looking to record some a couple of acoustic guitars, live with vocals to be done after the guitars are finished.

I have a Dell Laptop with Vista, I have Audacity.
My laptop currently has 1 Mic Input & 1 Headphone Output.

Please can you spell out to me what I need to get in order to connect various mics to my Laptop to record and change the levels of each.

Thanks

Cheers for the quick reply, I don't know if my Laptop has a firewire connection, can you spell out to me like i'm a retard what exactly I need to do, basically I have a spare USBs, 1 Mic, 1 Headphone Out, I have a fair few mics and leads etc, i'd like to record them, some simultaneously then add vocals and stuff afterwards.

Ta

look at all the connections on the case of the laptop the firewire will proberly have 1394 witten above it.
Failing that instead of it being flat it could look like a house on its side if it is the full one
Or it could be half the size of a usb slot more square in shape with a dip in the top of it if its the small one.

very hard to describe these hope this has not confused you more:D

Ahh yeah I know what you mean, nah my laptop does not have one. So. Hmm, what can I do

if you post what you are willing to spend you will problerly end up with some good suggestions on an interface that some people have got or have used.
