I just ordered a laptop to use exclusively for home recording. I use the m-box with pt-le 6.9.

It's an HP (with WinXP, NOT Vista). 2gb duo core processor. 2gb ram. 120gb hard drive, 7200rpm.
I feel pretty confident that I'm going to be working fine.
any thoughts.

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable setup to me.

I think just about anything you buy new these days should be able to handle at least a few simultaneous tracks of recording, with playback of previous stuff and a couple plug-ins running here and there in realtime. But, it looks like ya bumped things up pretty well :)

I'm using a 1 year old HP laptop, and it is meeting my needs just fine. I suspect that your new HP will do the job for you too.

Wow that's a really nice laptop. I don't think you'll have any problems.

By the way, where did you get it and how much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking? I've been thinking of getting a laptop for my next DAW computer.
