laptop help!!

basically, im using reason 3.0, with cubase sx and a tascam interface. the problem im getting is that when recording i keep getting skips in the signal! i tried altering the buffer and latency, and although the skips have become less frequent, its still there. its a pretty decent laptop!! and i never get this problem when recording on my desktop!

any ideas?

Laptop harddrives are slow.

You should look into getting a firewire external drive.

I had the same problem with my Tascam us 122.
It is fine now. Try switching off the Anti virus detection.
