i plan on doing alot of basic recording. a little or no midi, 4 mics at most for drums. also guitars, bass, acoustic piano, etc. Im getting a nice dell laptop in a few weeks and id like to skip a mixer when recording and do all the mixing on the pc. i've never really done this before but i'd like to do all the mixing (equalizing, volume levels, etc.) after i'm done recording.
im probably going to use sonar or home studio 2k4. what would be a good way to get the 4 mics into my laptop so i can mix them later. i really dont know how the whole recording thing works so anything you guys can explain would help me alot
