Jeff,

This is good stuff. Really cool song..honestly I got lost just enjoying the music with out thinking much about the technical stuff on the first pass. Your voice is fantastic, the bit at the end with vocals and the harp was very cool.

Ok listening again the drum fill intro sounds very electronic - it has that tell tale rapid fire drum machine sound. Great job programing the ghost notes on the snare. The other thing that stands out to me is the tom sound.. might be a touch heavy for this song.

I really like this song, other then the two drum issues I don't have any complaints! The lyrics hit home.. nice job.

Jeffmaher,

I dig the tune. Nice pop/reggae sound. You have some sweet background vocals, especially a riff you did at around the :50 mark. Made my ears purk up. This song made me laugh out loud a couple of times, but in a good way.

Dude I like the chops on the solo and the harmonica at the end. This is the first song I've heard from you, and it's pretty impressive.

As far as the mix goes, I am afraid I don't know too much about all that. But I will say that it sounded good to my ears. Maybe pull the lead vocals back bit? Sometimes it felt like it would be nice to hear more of those reggae chops.

Anyway, nice job dude.

Thanks. What I really like about this one...despite the stuff I overlooked....is that I got a lot closer to that 'in-your-teeth' presence that I like on pro records. Simple. Less verb. :^) [who'da thunk.....d'uh]

The vocal is really just a throwaway. But the level of the toms concerns me.
Thanks for the heads-up.....missed it.

Very inspirational song. Don't think I can quit my day job yet, got some young mouths to feed, and well I like my day job.

Anyhew, sounds good, kinda interested what it sounded like now with a just a little more reverb, but it's more a curiousity thing than saying "change it"

Good job!

This is great stuff, Jeff. Only room for nitpicking, but yeah, not crazy about the drums. Maybe bring the electric piano down a smidge.

Vocals are nice, smooth, even... sounds great. good harmonies. Nice ending.

Cool man!!!

listening now...

hey...this is pretty cool. i can picture this being in with the "parrot head crowd" nice balance of instruments. one thing i'm not a fan of (this is just me, but that keyboard sound has always drove me nuts) is that organ sound. it reminds me of that late 70's early 80's light rock, but i digress...i love the message, i love the sound over all, backgrounds...everything (but organs). this is sweet!

i'll have to check out more of your stuff. nice job.

Are you talking about that genuine vintage Kerzweil 'Fair Breath' patch?

I just can't get enough of it. Wicked guilty. Still hung over from the 70's and 80's.

I thought the drums sounded pretty good. I'm a guitar player. 'Nuff said. :^)

Hey Robert...if you're gonna listen to something, check out "Summer Vacation". It's kind of
'67 surfish. Congrats on your success!! [I'm a sucker for surf...CA, not HW]

Yeah sounds very polished. The drum fill at the start with that tom sound kind of sticks out oddly, but then they blend in. The keys remind me of Steely Dan. Mix is well balanced. Vocals and BVs, very nice

Sounds great man. My only nits are the toms and the harmonica. The toms sound good, but they're a little too up front and/or dry -particularly in the intro and around 3:20. The harmonica part is great - it's just a little too loud to me. Otherwise a nice mellow tune and good mix. Good job.

Beautiful piece, really classy, goovy.
Love your voice, Jeff ,and you do sweet harmonies. Mix sounds fine to me. The somewhat mechanical drums give it a modern feel. Love the jazzy part in the middle, great guitar work. Well done!

Joe :):):):)
