Hello all!

This is a small project with the purpose of testing dynamic mic placement on my new acoustic (can't afford a condenser).

http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=3617&alid=-1

This song contains two samples, a West 42nd Street percussion sample, and of course the 10 line Lady Louse poem. (both are from LP, hence the low-fi feel)

The rest is three acoustic tracks with some echo/delay effect for some spice.

What do you think?

Nice sound. I think you and I have a very different approach to music :)

I liked it though. Was pretty interesting... and the gits sounded good.

It isn't all "wonderful and sparkly" but it certainly doesn't suck...

If it was solo acoustic guitar, it might lack something. For this (which is pretty cool) it's just fine.

thanks for listening

I'm thinking of developing the piece into a full song, so far your comments are also pushing me in that direction.

thanks again for takin the time to listen.

cheers

Who's voice is it?

It is Vi Hilbert's voice, who is an Upper Skagit elder who's dedicated most of her life to preserving Lushootseed language and culture. This poem can also be heard in the Lushootseed lanuage here: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/news/local/seattle_history/about_audio/

Lady Louse Cleans House

Told by Elizabeth Krise to Thomas Hess. Tulalip, 1962

Lady Louse lived there in that great big house!
All alone.
She had no friends or relatives.
Then she took it.
And she swept it.
That great big house.
There was lots of dirt!
When she got to the very middle of the house,
she got lost!
That was the end of Lady Louse!
That is the end.
