i was going to go, to try to scope out any "reansonable" deals on a mic pre(yeah frocusrite baby!). But after lookin at the flyer they sent me, i could tell it was goin to be lame and no good deals. One of those "its a sale" -but not really, know we got you here to pay full selling price. Guitar satan like to promote these "big" sales , that are not really sale to start, maybe on like 10 things and thats about it.

It was pretty good. There were a lot of Fender instruments pretty cheap, like new ash MIA Jazz basses for $650 and a MIA Jazzmaster for $599. I didn't see anything at my store I needed, though. This is the first time I didn't drop a grand or two.

The Memorial Day and Labor Day sales are the only real Guitar Center sales that mean anything. I've gotten amazing deals at these two sales, 2/3 off on a lot of good new gear like Fender amps and basses.

You have to be there immediately on opening, though, as the big deals are gone in fifteen minutes. I know because I'm the guy who gets them, usually!:D

Yeah, I was there at 7:45. Picked up a turntable and mixer for my sons birthday. About $800 worth of stuff at Musicians Friend for about $300 at the GC sale. It was all demo stuff but in excellent condition.

I went back last night to see if there was anything they were still trying to get rid of. Saw a Lexicon 110 for $199. This is a pretty good deal on these.

There were six $3000.00(list) fender custom shop strats, right where you walk in the door, marked $599.00. The first six people on line scoffed them up. I was too far back on the line to get one.

I used to work at a small music store and we were having a big sale like that. One of the advertised deals was a really good price on a portastudio. This guy came in a couple days before and wanted me to hook one up so he could try it out and see if he wanted to grab it during the sale.

He got pissed off when I told him no because there would only be one and it was going to be grabbed up whether he demoed it or not. I wasn't going through all that trouble in the off chance that he would actually be one of the first few in line.

Every once in awhile there is a good sale. Unfortunately you do have to be one of the first few in the store.

I picked up a couple things on Labor day in OKC...

BLUE Cranberry for 28.88
Shure Beta 52 for 140.00
POD 2.0 for 244.44
