Argh. I need accurate advice.

12 hours ago, right in them middle of transferring a MIDI file from a floppy disk to my K2500XS into the P-RAM, and during the rain storm that hit St. Louis from the hurricane Ike residual, my Kurzweil rebooted itself in the middle of the file transer, and continues to loop, restarting after 3 seconds of the start process. I did not have surge or battery backup protection on my Kurzweil, stupidly.

I don't know if there was a lightning issue from the rain, but it is very likely. One other thing, that may or may not have had implications - - - the particular MIDI file I was transferring in, had 99 measures of space before any music began with SYSEX crap in the beginning of the file. This is an abnormal amount of space, but I don't know if that would have freaked out my K2500XS. ?

The V.A.S.T. and lightning bolt shows up, the "K2500 and V5.0" in the footer of the screen, makes the normal begin clicking noise, and then starts again, contstantly.

I have tried soft-rebooting to get it past this point, numerous times, but to no avail.

I have hit the exit button, no avail.

I have unplugged the machine and replugged it from AC during startup. No change.

All the normal lights blink during the startup phase.

It continues to begin with "Please Wait" and then the V.A.S.T. and lightning bolt, with the footer, and then loops at this point with clicking.

What am I up against?

Excellent! YAY! I did not know how to do it, nor did it show up in my manuals, but I searched Google for what you suggested, and there is a way to do a hard reset that I had forgotten about. 'Have not done it in years.

Back to normal!

Thanks!
