Kurtzweil non-standard midi implementation

Hi

I have a Kurtzweil SP 88 stage piano which I would like to use with a virtual sampler or virtual sound module via Cubase VST 5.

I have heard that my Kurtzweil uses 'non-standard midi implementation'.

In what way might this create problems when I am trying to use the Kurtzweil as a controller for a virtual module/sampler or soft synth?

If there is any symbol in yoru keyboard that says GM(General midi) then you are good to go. Anyway you'll be hearing what you trigger, so using yoru kurtzweil as a controller shouldn't be a problem.
The problem with 'non-standard midi implementation' comes only when you try to run someone else's GM in your keyboard and try to get the keyboard to play the same instruments assigned by the creator.
It can be used as a controller without a problem.
