Well this may be a tricky one, so many different versions of this story,so who really knows what went on

Do not know how many of you have seen the film "Kurt and Courtney" if you have you will agree that the film raises some attention to some unsolved questions. There are quite a few websites who deal with this issue, got no links at the moment but will put in some later.

So I was just wondering what your views are about this one.
Here are some things that I do not really get:
First of all we deal here with someone who is wealthy and well-known and loves music more than anything else. Okay he is fed up with the fame-game, but not fed up with music, so........he could do anything he wanted as he had enough musical ideas and financial resources to realise his ambitions, so why would he kill himself? Was he so far gone......Well I don't know but for some reason if you look at some of the facts about his death [cannot mention them here] it does not seem to add up, so sounds like there was something else going on.........

timmerman,
kurt cobain killed himself...his best friends/band mates even acknowledge this.. THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY

Yeah but we do not have to go that deep into it, do you really believe the guy was as dumb as just to leave as he did, career move.....well probably put some more mucha mucha in someone else's account, so in that respect good move but still...........

We aren't going to go too deep into it? Isn't that the point of this whole thread? Or was it to just hint around and say Oh, I don't want to talk about it, just raise some inflammatory questions?

He killed himself for the oldest reason in the world. He was suicidal.

No I am serious with the question, but do not want to raise arguments here, have no desire in that. So far it seems that most of you believe he took the hand at himself, only wonder how do we know. Of Course [as you know] we may be among people here who were really close to him, see I do not know this at all.....All what I know about the man is based on his music and his journals and from the film and the various websites. Perhaps people in Europe may have a different opinion as well, but again I do not know that. Spoken to some other people about this one, and they all also believe it was something else, but we do not know eh? That was my point, to see what folks are thinking, and just take it from there.

It's just the media trying to stir up some contraversy so people will watch more television. It was suicide, that's that, get over it, please.

Read his diaries that were published a few years ago. There is no doubt in my mind after reading that, that he was uncomfortable with success, his life, and living in general.

Exactly, it's a known fact that the police broke in a few times and rescued him from killing himself before w/ a hand gun in one instance...Courtney called the cops, and they saved him... So, please lay this to rest. HE KILLED HIMSELF BECAUSE he was suicidal, self destructive, but I still love Nirvana's music. THERE IS NO CONSIPRACY

After listening to Courtney Love's appearences on the Howard Stern radio show I almost killed myself, just imagine being married to her.

Kurt Cobain....suicide or......good career move

Good move for CourtneyLove. If he were still here no-one would know who she was besides his x-wifee.

I believe 100% she killed him.

H2H

  :( NO, he killed himself..leave the DEAD guy and his family alone for pete's sake   !

I think she's hot!...or was hotter before anyways.. <dodges tomatoes from you all!> :p

I'm just surprised we haven't heard the "I saw him at the Krispy Kreme with Elvis, Morrison, and Hendrix" .................. yet

Either way, suicide, murder, who cares?

Dead is dead, tragic.... obviously........ but it still doesn't matter one lick to what happens tomorrow.

about 7 years ago in the town i used to live in, there was a guy that would have passed for kurt cobain had he not been dead. i really can't put into words how identicle they were.

the only difference was in the clothing. well not even really there. the only thing i noticed was that in most pictures and videos you see of kurt where you can see his feet, he's wearing converse. this other dude wore vans.

it was so eerie, i couldn't even talk to the guy. he would walk by me occasionally and say "hey" and i would just stare at him. i'm sure that freaked him out, but man it was insane.

that's my story. it's not a conspiracy theory or anything. the guy was just so damn eerily similar.

MadAudio and boingoman: "Should this one be in the Cave"?.............................

No, because from here we could go into other aspects about the man, and I don't mean shoes or any other trivialities. When I first posted this one I was thinking of including more in my original quest like including elements of his music, but then I thought:"People will staight go into his music, lyrics ect. and tell us what they like/dislike about him. So the opening thread is only a springboard of a larger discussion. However I am interested in the whole "Suicide/Killed" story, and it is nothing new, could also have asked about Lennon or....... but will not to go too far of topic yet.

Hard2Hear...............: BANG ON, what would the world have cared for Courtney if not?.........so this is how some of these things work in this world. If you want to get somewhere you need to do something outrageous.

Imaduck................: The Media?, Yes it sells and keeps the world rolling, true about so many things, where would popular culture be without the interest of the media, and some of the stories people put up?. Just making good music does not count anymore [has it ever?], gotta be a little bit more inventive than just that.

Ipedluxe.............:Conspiracy? Well it all seem to boil down to the same thing eh? Media coverage, money, sales, rise in popularity etc. etc.

Charger.................: "From his diaries and lyrics you can see that the man was unhappy" Yep, but he loved music, and had enough of that in him, so he could quit the whole scene [or some of it] as he was about to do, and start something which he enjoyed a little more. And yes that would have been the end of Nirvana, and probably also the popularity of cult icon Kurt, but hey, he would have still been alive, and release some music from time to time. His record comp. probably would have sued him [stirring up popularity~record sales!~ again!] and yes the ball would have kept rolling. But dead is dead, so no more, we can only rehash the hype, introduce him to younger audiences [as with Jimi, The Doors ect. ect.] So in the end it is all what is in people's wallets what counts. Do not like to admit to this one, but probably is more true than anythings else in this world.
