If you had a set of KRK V6's, series 2 as your nearfield monitors, what would you get as a second set of monitors? I've always liked having 2 sets (home studio) to mix on. What would you get as a second set, with the goal being a good translating mix on alot of systems. Nothing too high end, or higher much than the V6's. V4's? Mackies? Something else? Prefer powered over not.

I'd get some small ones...Ipod crap type,pc monitor crap type.. like it or not thats the big thing these days as I see it. With 2 teenagers and its a constant amount of kids coming thru the house.
You ever heard a song thru a cell phone!??? the kids live for this horrific type audio crap!! its painful. :o

IMO, the PC speakers are the huge "average consumer" playback system, and at least those are starting to improve..thats refreshing.
Ipods, Earpods all that type are much better than the cell phones.

playback check on a "average joes" system. Would be Ipod and PC speakers.

Assuming your going for the Younger music buying market.

If your going for Audiophile bliss.....thats another thing all together.
Now your talking B&W and SubWoofers and the good stuff... :D

<disclaimer> I'm just bullshitting as I drank too much coffee tonight..er..this morning?

No market. Just for myself and friends. A hobby but I get annoyed at myself when my mixes sound bad on other systems. I always had a hard time with Alesis Monitor Ones and low bass. THe mixes would have a ton of low bass that I never heard on the mix. And the guitar sounds would always be small. I've done better lately, but I'm getting new speakers as a change and to see if helps me.
