I've been searching this forum for info about good passive monitors for about $300 a pair. The KRK Rokit series seems to be well regarded here; I've also found a very good review on the net.
I couldn't find anything on this forum about the Tannoy Reveal 601P. On paper they seem inferior in the bass range to the Rokit 6P (63Hz versus 49Hz) but better in the high frequencies (23KHz vs. 20Kz - not that I can hear that high or care if I did).
One review on the net about the Tannoys states that their sweet spot is narrow, while the review on the Rokits says theirs is large - again advantage Rokits (but the reviewer is not the same person).
So, it would seem that Rokits are better, but the info is scarce.
Rokits P6 go for about $150 for one, the Tannoys for about $125 for one. Since the price difference is small, the performance matters most.

Has anyone listened to both of them ? Which do you think are better ?

Nobody has an opinion ?

Maybe the Tannoy Reveal 601P are too new to have built a "reputation".
What about the KRK Rokit R6 ? How do they compare with other choices in their price range ?

I've heard the KRK RP 6 and liked them. I never had the chance to check out Tannoys.....its a good company and they make high end stuff, but no comment on this model.

maybe you need to do a shootout at your place....if your buying local take them both home and post the results.

Coolcat,

Thanks for the reply. How would you describe the Rokits sound ? Strengths and weaknesses ?

I found some other models in the same price range that look good:
-Mackie MR5, but this one is an active monitor, not passive
-Yamaha HS50M, again active and a review states that it's not really flat
-Behringer Truth 2030P and 2031P
-Wharfedale Diamond 8.2: 45Hz-24KHz

Which ones are better ? Any other recommended in the same price range ?
