Kotg d1600 + computer will this work?

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about getting a stand alone since i'll be running into some cash... But as korg is very spars with their info (and i'm too dumb too understand... hehe) i would like you to check if what i want to do is possible with the D1600...

USe it as a stand alone, it can record 4 tracks in 24 bit mode ... these four tracks are mic in , preamplified...

in 16 bit mode you get 8 tracks of recording, but are there 8 preamps?

next thing; it says you can hook it up to your computer through SCSI... is this what i think it is ie can i record on the korg then transport to the computer (seperate tracks of course ... )?

Thank you all, and any other comment on the D1600 or something similar is welcome!

Yeah, it has 8 pres on it. I use the SPDIF optical to mix down to PC, so don't know if you cant trasport individucal tracks to PC all at once with SCSI, although for some reason I think you can.

www.korgboards.com has a good D1600 forum, which is why there isn't one here I guess.
 
thanks vurt, i'll check it out... anyway i'm debating on whther the extra cost will be worth it ...
