Korg SR1, the 2MIX folders and data backup

If anyone here has one of the above (also known as the Korg SOS), could you confirm my suspicion that there's no need to back up the content of the 2MIX folders if you intend transferring the data to a DAW? I want to minimise the space needed for these backups, and Wav files aren't the smallest.
