with the kor kaossilator pro, can you connect it via midi to a midi keyboard to control the tune, then connect it via usb to a computer to monitor it, using it like an interface?
thanks.

p.s. didnt see this forum so I posted it in midi mania instead so if a moderator could delete the other one that would be cool :)

I just googled the kaossilator manual. All it appears to have in the way of outputs is line-outs. That means you can't drive it with midi, nor monitor via USB. It does not appear to ave that capacity.

really? it's just my question arose from me just looking at a picture with the midi in/outs and a usb out on it?

If it's like the Kaos Pad then the USB is purely for updating the samples on the pad and creating presets via the packaged software, but you can plug in a MIDI keyboard to control the effects.

According to this, in the play alone or with friends section, you can connect it and control the instruments in your daw, not sure how well though

I admit I just googled it and downloaded the first manual I could find.

But you seem t have figured it out ok.

Oooh, if you could that'd be ace. as i said, my point of reference is from the old Kaos Pad 2's. The kaossilator pro seems like a definite update from that

I still can't imagine how ideal it would be to use in a daw? How easy is it to actually make tune on it?

um....i re-read the DAW controller thing on the link you put and, to my understanding, it'd just be like a midi controller but just as a cool track pad. for live stuff they're amazing, but for making tunes..... well, as my reference is the old kaos pad i may be wrong but i can't imagine using this to actual write or make a tune

that is what I fear, I dont think he really wants to go into any live stuff
