korg dw6000 midi/vst question

how do you set up the DW 6000 to work with Midi? i've plugged the cables into the keyboards midi in and out jacks but it doesnt seem to communicate with my midi software

thanks i'll try that out. i bought the DW6000 used and i was never given the manual with it, so i'm trying to figure out things on my own. is it a big manual? is there a place where i could find it on the web? or find scans?
 
thanks a lot. yeah like i said, since i havent had a manual, i'm not sure about the capabilities of using the dw6000. the only things i'm really interested in is getting it to work with my vst effects/midi and i was wondering if there's a way to reset the synth to have it's orriginal factory settings because the previous owner wrote over a few of them
