This is a great re-mix of the Beach Boys "God only Knows" It sounds very good for being recorded in 1966 in Los Angeles. Brian Wilson recorded it on Ampex 8 track and 4 track machines.

Does anyone know or want to contribute as to what other type of gear was used in those studios in that time. Such as the console, the mics, compressors. Looks like the used Altec speakers.

Any other recording techniques Brian used please share also.
 
When I played the link all I got was an ad for a film (bloody youtube), and then a picture of an album cover, I was expecting some groovy shots of the recording studio. Denied!
