Has anybody ever heard of and/or owned any Klipsch speaker equipment? They used to be the absolute best speakers for home listening and monitoring.

I mixed an album on some Klipsch multimedia speakers once. It turned out o.k., but not great (the bass and midrange are very uneven). If you're just looking for some listening speakers, they're pretty decent. Also check out the similarly priced Logitech packages, as they are nice computer speakers as well. I would not use them as studio monitors, as they are just not accurate enough for that purpose.

I have a set of Klipsch 5.1 speakers. They are great for gaming, and I have used them as secondary reference speakers. I don't think I would want to use them as my primary monitors, though.

OH yea! :D

I have a couple Klipsche Horne's and a pair of Heresey II's. The Hornes will take some serious space and placement will make them shine. Don't even think about the Horne's if you live in a smallish space! You'll be wondering where to put your furniture when the truck shows up. The Heresey's aren't exactly desk top either as they're a typical floor standing speaker. Placement isn't as critical as they're not rear ported. These things are amazing imho of course. On my PC I've got the Klipsche THX 4.1's (which I would not recommend for studio monitors).
