I don't know if any of you are familiar with the Kingdom brand. They cater primarily to churches. In any case, their catalog promotes their house brand Kingdom KT58 as being better than the SM58 for around the same price, if not cheaper as I recall. I found a thread elsewhere that claimed the KT58 is manufactured for Kingdom by Audio Technica.

Has anyone here used these microphones? I'm always on the prowl for good, solid, dependable dynamics for live use. :)

The only thing a quick (I repeat "quick") Google search found was this ..........:"Kingdom provides only first quality products from top-level manufacturers, as well as our Kingdom Exclusive™ Equipment. These exclusive products are developed whenever current technology does not address the unique needs our customers. These include a trademarked brand of blank audio cassette tapes, CDs and DVDs, as well as proprietary products such as Kingdom Microphones™ and the Kingdom One touch™ high-speed cassette, CD, and DVD duplicators. Many Kingdom products were developed for our customers, based on their requests. They asked--and we listened! Like them, we want to partner with you to meet all of your audio/ visual needs!"............ sounds like an uninspiring sales blurb. Read between the lines and see the "truth" ;)

Kingdom rebrands equipment. ALL Pro Sound in Flordia sells an AT SM58 clone that they claim is better and cheaper than the SM58. Sounds like it could be the same mic.

I really like the GLS ES58 mics. They are a lot cheaper than the SM58 but they are good solid mics.

It matters where it's made. I've had a good amount of experience with AT mics, if it's Japanese, there's a good chance it's a pretty nice mic.
