Im looking to save up some cash so i can properly mic up a drumset(only have 3 mics currently/sadly hah)...I was thinking about a SHure PG52...but should i just wait and save up for an Audix D6?...or is the PG52 a decent enough mic, i could get away with it for a while, and then get the D6? And I am set on the D6 for the future..dont need any input regarding the D6, just the PG52 and if i should wait out or not.

Don't bother with the PG mics. They suck.

The D6 is fine for the clicky sound. The D112 is more versitile and the Beta 52 is good as well.

+1 on what Farview said.

I think PG is actually short for Practically Garbage.

Alright..well someone in the cheap drum mic threat suggested those Karma Phoenix mics...how do those sound? Heres a link if you dont know what im talking about: http://www.karmaaudio.com/clearance.html
And i heard the d6 in action before, and really liked it..so im sticking to it.

I personally love my Beta52a.... although close second is the D112...it's a lot more versitile than the 52...and is practically standard...

Do a search on this site for karma.
I have not used the karma drum mic kit but I recommend them from what I read on this site.

But I would skip getting a so called drum mic kit and just build one yourself.

Well i was just looking for some cheaper overhead/tom mics..and if i could've gotten a decent kick out if it, great..but it think i might now just save up for 2 overheads(MXL, or otherwise), a D6 and an SM57...and that'll be my drum mic kit...

The Behringer ecm8000's make decent overheads for not much dough. I own a pair, and our esteemed Mr. Harvey Gerst likes them in that application.

I really like my MXL 603s as overhead mics. Just sayin'... :D

Hmm...i definitely like the sound of spending less money :D. I was originally thinking about a stereo pair of MXL 993 mics.
