kick drum recording

Also, depending on the number of channels you have, you could use a cheap trigger, mic or even a piezo pickup shoved deep into kick to get a more isolated audio signal. KT does not really care what it sounds like. Just needs to be a strong signal.

Well, I can't figure out how to send kt drum trigger to ezdrummer. I don't have any output options to send it into ezd. Is there something I need to do to get it to register as a signal?

There should be MIDI input options for EZD somewhere in Sonar. Maybe post something in the Sonar forum.

No I know where the midi inputs are for ezdrummer, what it is, is that KT Drum Trigger isn't showing up as a possible input for ezdrummer. I don't know what is going on with that, I changed kt to a vsti, I load it up as an effect in my kick drum channel, then I load ezdrummer. I try to change my inputs and kt drum trigger isn't on there?

Hey man, never mind. After a few hours of research, I found the solution. Fixed the problem, and got it all set up. Thanks for the suggestion for sure, it is definitely gonna give me alot more options.

Cool man! You will definitely benefit much more from replacement/enhancing software like SS Trigger, if that is the route you want to take. You have much more control of samples, tuning, dynamics that relate to velocity of the 'real' drums, with a dedicated program. KT will give you a basic idea of how it can help though. Don't ever let go of the real deal though. :)

Yeah, I am gonna work on just getting a good kick drum recording for sure. I think the only thing I will do with kt drum trigger will be to add a bit more to the actually recording, blend the two.
