I was wondering how to eliminate bleed thru on my kick drum mic. I pick up way to much snare in it. Is this normal? I tried to cover up any holes on the top of the drum (the ones that are used to mount toms) with blankets. It helped a little. I have a decent mic, its a low end mic that my buddy stole from guitar center. I dont know what kind it is, but I think it cost about $150. I think it may be an audio technica.

OH THAT'S NICE....

Why didn't you have your buddy steal a freakin' recording manual too -- then you'd have had your answer.............

*SHEESH*

Still want an answer??

...Go back to the store it was stolen from and ask them.....

Something along the lines of " er... yeah, my buddy picked this up the other day for me and I need to know how to work it... no - it didn't come with the instructions.... can you help me?" Then while he's looking in his book for instruction, you can score something else - a recording manual, another mic --- hell... steal a good mic this time - that'll help solve your problem... (well, your sound problem, anyways)

fuckin' knob......

Hey Bruce,

Now he needs to send his friend to steal a noise gate !
Bwahahaha!!

Death,

You won't get any sympathy from those of us who have been in this for any length of time-I've had literally thousands of dollars worth of gear stolen from me; and you admit that you know it's stolen, and you post it?
Damn, talk about no conscience!

Hell, even if I had the nerve to do it-I wouldn't!

Man, we had some guys go through Our bandroom one time and wipe us out!

These bastards cut a freaking hole in the wall with a "Sawz-all"! Probably took them only a minute or two to geth through it...they had broken into the room next door (which was a storage room for a carpet company) and came through the wall which was just sheetrock/studs/sheetrock... They totally bypassed the security alarm because they didn't break any glass, and didn't break any of the contacts- they just cut out a huge section of the wall, and then "went shopping".

They hit 3 band rooms in one night. I lost almost $5,000 in gear (including my brand new R-8 drum machine and "Reb Beach endorsed"(Winger! Woo-Hoo!) Kitty Hawk preamp!! Argh!! That pre-amp was sweet too! that happened almost 10 years ago) and I had NO INSURANCE at all! As they say in Ireland-"I was fooked!"

let me make something clear. First, I doubt theres many people who havent accepted stolen goods at one time or another. And if there are, the gates of heaven await you. 2nd, I didnt do the stealing, I dont have the guts to do so. My friend got it, not cuz I asked, he just showed up at my house one day with it. 3rd, I dont think stealing from someones personal stash is cool at all, nor do I think stealing form a privet establishment is any good. But the root of all evil, Guitar Center, I dont feel the least bit bad about taking from them, there the reason all the good pawn shops gone. Kinda like that whole Wal-mart thing. Fuck those huge businesses. I'll try my best to put em down. And that whole thing about them raising their prices cuz of bitch ass theives like me is bullshit too. Theyd raise their prices no matter what, their swimming in money. The best price for something @ G.C. is free ninety nine.

The nerve I meant was getting stolen gear and then coming in here advertising the fact and expecting help!

Kinda like a car thief who steals the car and then calls the owner back to ask about the car's maintenance schedule.

Big yikes...

As for you Death.........
If stealing is wrong from small business it's wrong from big business too............ period.... so fuck off with your rationalizing -- it's total bullshit.....

Contrary to your twisted perception, I would say that most people here HAVE NOT accepted stolen merchandise.
If you don't like dealing with GC, go somewhere else. I've been playing music for over 20 years, and I've never bought a single think from Guitar Center.

So you're saying if you had the guts to steal it you would?
