Oh, all right.

Might as well be big about it.

Here's a LINK to KVR Audio. They have a whole category of free VST fx and VST instruments. It can be tough to search but if you stick with it --- it's worth it.

Thanks...hey, at least I wasn't looking for drum loops.

Ssscientist will handle this one...
Thanks, TelePaul.

There are two ways to handle this one - midi loops w/a VST instrument like Drumatic, Drum Kit From Hell, BFD, etc. The advantage these have over wav format loops is that you don't need Sony Acid or Ableton Live to stretch them to the appropriate tempo --- just set them up and go.

The second one is to search the web for free loops in wav format - I'll get you started with this link.

Another possibility is Leaf Drums. It's a small, very cool little virtual drum machine that uses wav files, has built in effects and renders to another wav file once you're happy with your beat. It's shareware and the fee is $30 if you decide to keep it.

And danny.guitar -

Starting your own thread is free for all registered users and is a good idea, if only to keep the replies straight...

Ssscientist, on the subject of .wav loops, does Cubase support those?

Sure.

Just drag 'em and drop 'em.

Then select 'em, copy 'em and paste 'em.

(I saved typing ten letters in this post alone...)

You can still use them, but you'll need Acid or Ableton Live or some other program capable of retempoing .wav files without affecting pitch if you want to use them at anything but their original tempo.

So the answer is a qualified 'yes'.
