Hello Again,
Here's remix #5. I remixed upstairs on a diff comp but I HOPE that all else remains the same. OH's about db or so lower (Cakewalk ProAudio 9.3 doesn't have accurate registration/monitoring of actual dbs so it's a visual meets ear thing).

RAMI, thanks for the kind words. If Terry does retrack the vox I think that will be the icing - it'll have the top end intact & have much more presence in the mix as required.
IDO - Thanks mate.
NB the sibilance is more pronounced on the streamer than the MP3 & wave files - I may have to ditch the gaceverb for streaming.

Yeah Ray, I'm having to listen on cans right now, but it seems much better.

If you get the vocals re-done, watch for that high-pitched squeal.

Ray, to me it sounds great now, mate! :)
I was thinking what the song reminds me of (in a good way of course....)...it takes me back to the kind of sound that early Roxy Music had, especially the guitars remind me of Phil Manzanera. I used to love them before they went all poppy.
What a great song this is! I'm sure if you redo the vocals like you'd like to, it'll be perfect.....post more please!

:D:D:D

Ray, this is catchy. Very catchy.

The Vox are pretty cool. I remember how to use to keep them pretty low. :) It's easier to hear them now and they sound great.

The drums do make a great bit of difference.

Very techno playing on the drums instead of your standard rnr playing.

Few ideas to play around with:
1 - Slight more snare snap with 2-3K slight boost in EQ.
2 - The bass is pretty cool. Maybe slight high end presence might make it more present.
3 - Might lower the rhythms behind the vox. It's sounds as if it should suggest the rhythm along instead of necessarily be out front. Just an idea. Since no one else has suggested might be ok to leave it alone.

Very cool overall. :)

Sounds good Ray - Big Bubba has some interesting suggestions. IMHO this is a solid mix. Unless you can think of something you'd like to change I'd sit back and enjoy this while you wait for an updated vocal track from Terry...
Again, good job by all on this!:D:cool::D

Hey d00d, sup? :)

Greg,
Ta. The high pitch ought to be no more if Terry has his new signal chain sorted.
Joey,
Aw Shucks! It helps when you have good help. Faderbug, Gerry & Greg played what the track needed & it shows. The Manzanera ref is nice (I'm a BIG 801 fan I have 2 of their albums autographed by him). thanks HEAPS.
Supercreep,
Yep the HHs really do move this a) to a different place & b) at a cracking pace. thanks for the generous words.
BB,
Greg said the style was a change for him (the original had a rockbossa pattern) but again he played what came natural & naturally it worked. I'll tinker with your suggestions - you've offered good value ideas in the past so I'll have a go. Thanks mate.
Ido,
I hope you don't mind that I added a touch of chorus to your guitar line! The solo really sings & stings. After I play with BB's ideas next weekend I'll have to go into quiet mode until the new vox appear- so I'll take your recco.

Love this mix ray!

I went straight to remix #5, so didn't necessarily follow the whole progression, but while dense like all of your arrangements, you've managed to make this one both dense and somehow open sounding. Each item seems to have more of its own space than in some of your other mixes.

Love the rhythm guitars (reminds me of early talking heads), the cymbal work and the lead that rises up out of nowhere yet fits perfectly. A whole lot going on here...very entertaining. :)

No problem - those kind of changes give ideas to me for the future ;)
