I am trying to figure out how to get the videos on my computer to hook up to a tv. I have the audio figured out but not sure what cord I would need or where it plugs in at for video? can anyone help me?

Hmm, bit of a strange topic for a forum about recording, but anyway, welcome!

Depends on the outputs you have available from your graphics card and the inputs available on your TV...

Some newer TVs have straight-up D-SUB VGA or DVI inputs which mean you can connect your TV to your computer as you would a monitor. Some graphics cards have HDMI which is also good for connecting to new'ish TVs.

For older TVs you'll be looking at something like S-video or composite to connect to your TV - don't expect anything great from this; bad quality 640x480 at the most. Quite a few graphics cards from a few years have S-video on them (before HDMI caught on). Have a check to see what your computer has.

check out DVDStyler freeware to make DVD with Menus from various video file types.

  • using MPEG and VOB files without reencoding, see FAQ
  • allows put files with different audio/video format on one DVD (support of titleset)
  • user-friendly interface with support of drag & drop
  • flexible menu creation on the basis of scalable vector graphic
  • import of image file for background
  • placing of buttons, text, images and other graphic objects anywhere on the menu screen
  • changing the font/color and other parameters of buttons and graphic object
  • scaling of buttons and graphic objects
  • coping of any menu object or whole menu
  • dvd scripting

This might be the easiest, cheapest and most portable method.
As you make the DVD's on your computer .... then play the karaoke songs in any DVD player where the TV is connected to.
