I know how you feel. The other day when you popped on saying you had a show to mic that night, Harvey was there with an answer within two hours. That's someone who knows. What are the odds? A stranger with the poor judgement to turn to the internet for last minute answers lucks into a quick one from an experienced pro!

Okay, so he overlooked the no closemicing thing at first. You could have just as easily waited till after the gig to get some moron telling you to hang some computer mics from the balcony. We are indeed fortunate here.

Yeah--I must second that. All too often one doesn't realize (or appreciate) that it takes time to type out a response to our questions and comments, so on behalf of all of us HomeReccers to all the other HomeReccers, THANK YOU!

agreed....I've learned alot just by lurking....imagine what I'd pick up if I asked more questions!!!!!!

Ask questions? Hell, I can't even READ, and I've learned a lot from this forum...

I just log in to look at Harvey's pictures...:-)

I'd just like to add that the volumes of user feedback & nfo I found in this forum has been invaluable in helping me make some purchasing choises to expand & fill some gaps in my mic tool box, especially with all the relatively new mic models of recent to choose from for which there is little reliable nfo to be found elswhere.

A post from Harvey delivered me from compression mania. When I started trying to record, I was under the impression from reading in BBSs and other material that, to get a good sound, you had to compress everything. I tried very hard to get stuff to sound good all going through my Blue Max. Then one day Harvey said he used very little or no compression when tracking. I says, well I'll be darned. Since then I have followed suit to great benefit. Funny how you can follow the mob to destruction. This is a great site. Very valuable. And free! I say thanks too.
