Hi, recently got a new PC and Im finally going to start slowly and ask questions as I go.
At the moment all I have is an old keyboard with midi in/out. I will connect this with a midi adapter via joystick port for now (audiophile 24/96 later).
I want to use the keyboard for midi data input only, and then use software to render this to "sounds". If im not as confused as I think I am, I need a soft synth? Just to clarify, I play the keyboard, the software records midi data (no sound), then I can assign a sound and create wav file?
If I go this right, what software can I experiment with, I will download demo's and try out. It will probably need to have a sequencer also as I have some drumbeat wav's that I created with Leafdrums that I would like to throw in the mix.
