just to clarify

im buying krk rokit rp5 g2 and using presonus audio box

the cables i will buying are 2 x trs cables for my speakers to plug into my audio interface.

is this all i need ? the reason i ask is because i dont understand how the audio interface will be able to pick up youtube or itunes when i play normal stuff on my mac ?

I've never used the modern powered monitors that seem to be a mainstay of home recording, but the AudioBox is designed to send its output to that kind of monitor over a pair of TRS cables, yes.

Choose the interface as your audio output device and the system will use it for everything.

Last time i checked that worked fine; System Preferences --> Sound ---> Output tab ---> set it to presonus audiobox. i'm running a presonus firestudio mobile and can hear youtube & iTunes through my monitors
